The 1970’s are one of our favorite eras in fashion history at Camille Design. The iconic Studio 54 club in New York City in the 1970’s was one of the meeting places for celebrities and icons to gather, dance, drink and show off statement fashion.
In the late 1970s, at the peak of the disco dancing and music trend, the building was renamed after its location and became a world-famous nightclub and discotheque. The nightclub founders spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on professional lighting design and kept many of the former TV and theatrical sets, in the process creating a unique dance club that became famous for its celebrity guest lists, restrictive (and subjective) entry policies based on one's appearance and style.
Under the lights in the club celebrities such as Cher and Micheal Jackson wore shimmery metallic accessories and clothing to dance the night away and make their fashion statement.
